The Premier League is English Professional League (EPL) for football clubs, and is also known as The Premiership. 
20 clubs contends the Premier league which is England’s’ primary football competition. Each team plays 38 games during the season which runs from August to May every year. Barclays Bank is the current sponsor of the Premier league. 
20 clubs are acting as shareholders.
On February 20th 1992 the competition has formed, and first games took place at August 15 that year. These days the premier league is the world’s most lucrative FC, and as well the most watched sporting league over the whole world. 
£1.4 billion is the combined club revenues at the season of 2005-06. The total expected revenue for 2007-08 is £1.8 billion. 
Till 2008, only 4 clubs won the league from among 40 clubs that have competed. The winners were: Blackburn Rovers, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
The current champions are Manchester United, for the ten times, after beating Chelsea both at the Premier League and at the Champions league in the 2007-08 season.
