Mizuno

Mizuno is a Japanese sportswear company, which was established in 1906 by Rihachi Mizuno, in Osaka. The first Mizuno shop based in Osaka imported American golf and baseball gear. However, due to Rihachi Mizuno's frustration with the quality of imported items, he located Japanese factories who could manufacture the same products. The locally manufactured products were marked with the family name, thus creating the Mizuno brand. At present, Mizuno is an international company which produces a broad variety of sports gear and sportswear, including equipment used in Judo, volleyball, golf, cycling, tennis, baseball, skiing, and athletics. There are numerous notable athletes and teams which have used Mizuno sportswear and equipment. For example, world famous football player, Rivaldo, wore Mizuno football boots during his career. Argentinean player, Pablo Aimar, who presently plays for SL Benfica also wears the company's football boots. Nicky Lister wore Mizuno boots in 2008 on his tour to Argentina and Chile. In addition, the Philippines national football team's uniforms are produced by Mizuno.

The company manufactures many different football boot styles. One of the footwear lines to be released by the company was the Wave Ghost Striker line. This football boot line was specially engineered with multi directional split outsoles in order to offer the best balance between grip and flexibility on the field. The boots' heel unit includes the Mizuno Wave plate which provides support on all surfaces. In addition, the outer surface of the boots was manufactured with Kangaroo leather and a fold over tongue which improves contact.
