Reebok
Reebok International Limited is a British sportswear company which manufactures athletic footwear, clothing, and sports gear. Reebok is currently a division of Adidas. Reebok was established in Bolton, United Kingdom, in 1895. The company was formerly called J.W. FOSTER & SONS but was given the name Reebok in 1958. Its new name originated from the Afrikaans word rhebok, which is one of the African antelope species.
Reebok has sole rights to produce and sell both original and imitation uniform jerseys and other team kit clothing for the National Football League since 2002. They also received exclusive permission to manufacture team kits for the Canadian Football League in 2004.
Reebok preserved its company's connection with its origins in England by signing a long-term sponsorship contract with the Bolton Wanderers. When the team moved to a new stadium in the late-1990s, their new ground was named the Reebok Stadium. Reebok manufactures football kits for many football leagues around the world, including the Bolton Wanderers, Aris FC, Deportivo Saprissa, and Mohun Bagan. In 2005, the company also signed an agreement to produce all 8 Australian A-League teams' home and away strips for the new competition. Reebok football boots are designed with lightweight materials for optimum speed and accuracy. They are also produced with materials that are optimal for support and protection in order to ensure the best possible protection.
In December 2007, Reebok introduced their new GOAL line of football gear after the release of the football movie Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. |
