Robson de Souza is a Brazilian Robinho's team won the championship in his first year as a player.   international football player, who is frequently called Robinho. He plays for the English Premier League club Manchester City F.C. and is also a member on the Brazilian national team.                      
Robinho was born on January 25^th 1984 in São Vicente, São Paulo. He began playing football at an early age and was signed with the Beira-Mar football academy when he was only six years old.  

In 1993, at the young age of eight, Robinho joined the Portuários futsal team. Later on he joined Santos's youth program, which was directed by Brazilian football legend Pelé.

At the age of seventeen (in 2002), Robinho signed his first professional agreement with Santos. He made 24 appearances and scored nine goals in his first season as Santos won the 2002 Campeonato Brasileiro. He reached the final of the 2004 Copa Libertadores with Santos, but lost in the final to Boca Juniors.

In July 2005 Real Madrid signed Robinho who played with the team until September 1^st 2008, when he transferred to Manchester City.

During an interview with The Guardian, Robinho said that in addition to Manchester City being a major club, the presence of his friends Jô and Elano on the team motivated him to join. On September 13^th he played in his first game against Chelsea where City won 3-1. On October 26^th, Robinho scored for the first time in the Premier League against Stoke City F.C.
