Umbro
Umbro is a British sportswear and apparel manufacturer which was founded in Cheadle, England. Umbro designs and sells athletic footwear, clothing and gear. The company's products are sold worldwide. Umbro was established in 1920 and was called Humphrey Brothers Clothing. In 1924, the company was renamed Umbro, which is an abbreviation of its former name, Humphrey Brothers. In 1985 Umbro presented its first football boot in The company has produced football kits for many well-known teams over the years. Its first kit was created in 1934 for Manchester City, who came in at first place at the FA Cup that year. Umbro has also manufactured kits for numerous international teams from around the world in addition to club teams. Almost all of the 16 participating teams at the 1966 World Cup wore Umbro kits. At present, Umbro is the official kit and equipment supplier of the English FA Cup and is the new sponsor of the Wembley Stadium. In addition, Umbro is planning on teaming up with the Football Association in the expansion of the National Football Centre (NFC) at Burton-upon-Trent and will therefore become the stadium's official sponsors. Umbro manufactures many different football boot styles. One of the more recent items which the company has released was the SX flare boot. |
