The United States men's national soccer team is the national soccer team of the United States and is managed by the United States Soccer Federation. The team is currently ranked 21st in the FIFA World Rankings and have competed in various tournaments. The national soccer team competed at their first international match in 1885 against Canada. However, the game was not regarded as an official international game therefore the first official competition was on August 20th 1916 against Sweden, with the USA winning 3-2. The U.S. men's national team has played at the FIFA World Cup, the Olympics, the Confederations Cup, the North American Football Confederations and CONCACAF regional tournaments. The team has also competed in the Copa America, as well as numerous smaller cups. The national team's best outcome in a World Cup was in 1930 when they were semi-finalist. The team finished in third place at the 1992 and 1999 FIFA Confederations Cup. The U.S. national team never finished higher than second place in regional competitions, until the 1991 Gold Cup. Since then, they have won four titles. In 1995, the U.S. finished fourth at the Copa América. The team was also champions of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 1991, 2002, 2005, and 2007. The USA national team's home kit includes white shirts, dark blue shorts, and white socks, while the away kit is comprised of a blue jersey, white shorts and blue socks.
